Iranian American Democrats of San Diego

General
Parties present unanimously voted to create the club and the
Bylaws were adopted.
Membership to the Club is open to all individuals, however
acceptance of dues from non-US citizens may be an issue. Ali
S. stated that as long as you are in the U.S. legally,
acceptance of dues from non-US citizens is not a problem. Ali
G. is going to clarify this issue.
Elections held
President – Shahriar Afshar
V.P. – Shahin Rahimi
Tres. – Pantea Hadaegh
Sec. – Anita Tassviri
Positions elected are for 2005 calendar year.
Name of club
Iranian American Democrats of San Diego received 12 votes.
Iranian American Democratic Club of San Diego received 7
votes.
San Diego Iranian American Democratic Club received 4 votes.
Official name of our club: Iranian American Democrats of San
Diego.
(Ali G. has confirmed that this name is acceptable)
Membership and Dues
Please forward all membership application requests to
anita_tassviri@yahoo.com. Dues will be discussed at the next
meeting.
Agenda for next time
1. Shahin will create outline of DNC platform. www.
democrats.org
2. Members should create a list of the issues they are
concerned about.
3. Ali G. will look into getting food donations and acceptance
of dues from non-US citizens as well as getting a speaker for
our next meeting.

Dec 8 at 6:30 to 8:30. Location to be determined.
Amendment of the month
FIRST AMENDMENT: “Congress shall make no laws respecting
an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to
petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
